Cannabidiol (CBD)

Our big kicker ingredient is called CBD (CannaBiDiol). CBD is gaining scientific and medical awareness and as a result, it's suggested health and wellness boosts are being explored with interesting results. CBD is one of the 113 cannabinoïd or molecules produced uniquely by the hemp and cannabis families. As opposed to other cannabinoids like THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), when extracted and consumed, CBD doesn’t have a strong effect on cognitive brain activity. CBD containts no THC (<0.03mg) and is commonly known as being non-psychoactive.

We always loved the science of things. Anatomy, biology and even just being an athlete is a search for discovery in finding oneself. Hopefully in the scrolls that follow, you might learn a thing or two about hemp derived CBD.

Scientists suggest there are eleven systems of the body (Circulatory, Respiratory, Nervous, Muscular, Immune, etc.). As recently as the 1990's however, scientists discovered a 12th!

When we say CBD is the future, we truly believe it. Here is why...

Endocannabinoid System (ECS)

This system has a series of receptors throughout the whole body (brain, organs, connective tissue, immune cels and glands). It’s suggested to assist with a variety of functions including sleep, mood, memory, appetite, reproduction and pain.

In really basic terms, it's role is to maintain balance/homeostasis in the body. From temperature regulation, to hormone levels, to your body noticing a build up of toxins in your bloodstream. Get it? It's disease and illness... Here's the cool part *NERD!

Endocannabinoids are what bind to the receptors to maintain balance and are found naturally in our bodies. Exercise helps with stress and makes you feel better (heard of runners high?). Amazingly, scientists suggest this is linked to the endocannabinoids and the ECS. But a lack of looking after ourselves and not exercising, sleeping and having a poor diet can diminish these receptors

Now enter CBD! The hemp plant (not marijuana) has a high concentration of CBD, a plant-based endocannabinoid. When you take a dose of CBD, it floods the ECS, replenishing the body improve all those systems that are off balance.

Basically these studies are finding CBD actually puts your body back into balance. Pretty rad right! Now as people started discovering this, CBD oil started popping up everywhere gas stations, health clubs and even while label brands and even on Amazon.

Don’t buy from any of those places and here’s why... CBD has become the wild west because it is an unregulated industry. You can literally put olive oil in a little brown bottle and slap a cbd label on it!

This is why it is so important to know where exactly your CBD oil comes from and what is inside the bottle!  So do your research and since you're on CBDayz, check out our third party lab reports on each product page, as well as our detailed product descriptions. We really take this stuff seriously so you can count on us to make sure your CBD experience is all stoke and no joke!

What Is The Endocannabinoid (ECS) System?

The ECS is a biological system composed of endocannabinoids. Endocannabinoids are endogenous lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors and cannabinoid receptor proteins that are expressed throughout the central nervous system (including the brain) and peripheral nervous system. Amongst all the various benefits that are being correlated with CBD consumption, our exclusive CBDayz formulas are tailor designed for the action sports community.

How Does the Endocannabinoid System Work?

Cannabinoids, their receptors, and endocannabinoid molecules all play a role in the Endocannabinoid properly balancing your bodily functions. Your body produces endocannabinoids and you receive some from your diet. The endocannabinoids match the correct cannabinoid cells with certain receptors to balance bodily functions as they cycle throughout the ECS.

CB1 & CB2 Receptors

After discovering the endocannabinoid system, recent studies have shown that our brains have specific receptors designed to accept cannabinoids, known as CB1 and CB2, which are responsible for the assimilation of cannabinoids molecules in your system. A discovery that started a whole new era in cannabis and hemp research.

Reduce Soreness & Boost Recovery Time

Action sports are sometimes a questionably "good for you" way of life. Eventually we all seem to get injured having the time of our lives.

To many of us, action sports baffle those who just don't get our drive, bliss and passion. Why do the sport if we keep getting hurt! Now, we might all have different responses but most of us just do it because it's really really fun!

Studies (click here) suggest that CBD could be rich with anti-inflammatory properties and could play an important role in speeding up the recovery time of muscular and joint injuries. Whilst this isn't verified yet by the FDA, CBD in certain circumstances has been suggested in research as a useful natural alternative to replace prescription pills with limited to no side effects.  Everyone is different however, so seeking advice from you health care provider before trying CBD is always recommended.

Assist Brain Functionality

When the sharpness of your decisions is drawing the line between stomping and riding out or the emergency room, there is no room for stress and anxiety. A clear mind is more likely to react promptly in a split second and this may extend your luck in a critical situation.

CBD targets the serotonin receptor 1A. Amongst many other functions, this receptor is responsible for a person’s good mood and clear cognition. Many of the potential therapeutic benefits of CBD are associated with the profound affinity CBD has with this receptor.

The unique neurological effects of CBD are certainly very interesting to learn about. Some studies have suggested that it may protect our neurons from degeneration. This is not been confirmed as of yet by the FDA.

Maintain High Levels Of Energy

Let’s agree that being healthy and having great energy levels can certainly help you get after life and your dayz. CBD has been suggested to enhance energy, cognition, focus and balance general health and wellbeing.

Snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing can be very demanding on the human body. Therefore the need to train, have acute cognition and be in great physical health to enjoy the sports we love long term.

Overall Health & Wellness

Managing balance in the immune system is one of the several functions of the ECS. CBD is a great source of fatty acids such as Omega 3 which may assist the body to produce more endocannabinoids. This may enhance the whole body’s immune system.

Studies have also shown positive results concerning CBD possibly being linked with increased blood flow and playing a key role in maintaining homeostasis (overall balance) of your body.
